In June 1997 a group of like-minded Christians from a variety of evangelical church backgrounds met to begin planning a Christian Youth Convention built around expository preaching and Biblical Theology. The fruit of these labours was the forming of the Queensland Youth Convention (QYC), the first of which was held from 23rd-26th January 1998 at Mt Tambourine. Since then it has run each year in January.

Sensing a need for further conventions of this theological ilk, Queensland Christian Convention Association Inc (QCCA) was formed as the governing organisation for QYC and any future conventions that may be run. Mens Training Event (MTE), Evangelical Music Convention (EMC), City Youth Event (CYE) and Brisbane Bible talks (BBT) have all been run over the years.

Currently QCCA runs two conventions- QYC (January) and MTE (September), with an Evangelical Womens Convention to begin in 2010 (date TBA). QCCA is always on the lookout for expanding the number of conventions we offer, depending on need and interest.
