The Brisbane Ministry Wives’ Network exists to help ministry wives support each other in the role of a ministry wife. We aim to provide a forum with a strong Biblical
foundation in which ministry wives can fellowship and pray for each other as we reflect on the particular distinctive of our role.
We meet once a term on a Friday morning to hear from the Bible, or about a topic that has relevance to our role, and we also enjoy morning tea and lunch together.
Our speakers, who in the past have included women like Lesley Ramsay, Christine Jensen and Maxine Cook, are brought in from interstate to allow our local network to
focus on ministering to each other. We also try to include a “ministry spot” in each meeting which provides an opportunity to hear how others are using their gifts
and abilities in different situations, and to share new ideas. Crèche is provided at these meetings, and our 2010 gatherings are being held at
City North Baptist Church.
Our meetings are open to women who are married or engaged to a man working in ministry, or those who are training for ministry ie studying at Theological
College or working in a training capacity of some kind. Denominations represented at our meetings include Presbyterian, Baptist, Anglican and Westminster
Presbyterian as well as independent churches – and we also have many involved with student ministry or other parachurch organisations.
