North Queensland Christian Convention is an opportunity to gather as followers of Jesus Christ for a weekend of hearing God’s word, praising him in song, speaking with him in prayer and encouraging one another with fellowship.

Phillip's our 2023 speaker with a passion for Preaching god's word

We welcome Phillip Jensen as our guest speaker to NQCC 2023.
Phillip is married to Helen and has three adult children and 13 grandchildren.

Phillip has been active in various ministries for many years including student ministry at the University of New South Wales, Rector of St Matthias Centennial Park and Dean of Sydney at St Andrew’s Cathedral. During this time, he was chairman of Katoomba Christian Convention, founded Matthias Media, Ministry Training Strategy, and numerous evangelistic ministries as well as writing several books.

Some of his works include Two Ways to Live, Guidance and the Voice of God, Prayer and the Voice of God, By God’s Word and The Coming of the Holy Spirit. You can find sermons and essays by Phillip at phillipjensen.com

Phillip has recently published a major book on the work of the Holy Spirit. These talks will introduce us to the main thesis of the book so we can understand the purpose for which Jesus sent the Holy Spirit into the world.

In addition to our special guest speaker we have a number of local pastors and ministry workers who will be speaking at NQCC 2023. Our local speakers will be looking at Songs of the Spirit, preaching from various Psalms.

Ian is the Minister at Fairfield Baptist Church in Townsville.

Lloyd Lawrence

Lloyd is a staffworker with the Christian Students group at James Cook Uni in Cairns.

Tom Pountain

Tom is the Rector at Ross River Anglican Church in Townsville.

KIDS PROGRAM

There will be a children’s program offered for creche/kindy and primary school children.The program will run during the morning sessions and include bible teaching, stories, songs, craft and games.All leaders will have appropriate Childsafe training and approvals.

The conference fee includes morning tea, lunch and conference program. It does NOT include accommodation. Attendees will need to arrange their own accommodation in Mission Beach for the weekend

You will need to arrange your own accommodation for the conference. There are plenty of options near the Mission Beach State School. The Dunk Island View Caravan Park and the Mission Beach Resort are popular options along with other motels and airbnbs.
